While waiting for me to publish ' Girl from the Kip' why not take a look at my short story.

Based in Victorian England , these stories, look at the love lives of two servants.

It's a gentle read, just right for those hot summer days and nights.

Hannah wrapped the flowers up in the silver paper then looked at Chloe and said, ‘Have I what?’

‘Done it.’

‘Not yet, but we’re going away for the weekend and I’m hoping it will happen then.’

‘Tom couldn’t believe it when I told him.’

‘Thanks for that, why don’t you tell everyone. I’m sure all the world wants to have a good laugh at my expense.’

‘Ann, what’s the matter? Tell me.’

‘Do you love her, yes or no!’

‘Yes, I think I do.’

‘I can’t bear to see you two together and if she was to kiss you, I don’t know what I’d do.’

Luther sighed. Then the full realisation of what she was saying hit him, and he stood up and said, ‘You love her, don’t you? How long have you known?’

‘Yes, I love her,’ she said vehemently, as she stood up and walked to the window. ‘But don’t you dare tell her. My life would be over if she knew.’

‘But why do you treat her so badly?’

‘I don’t mean too, it’s just that I get so jealous. Oh Luther!’

‘I can’t be sure, but I don’t think she likes you in that way Ann. But if she did, I fear you have alienated her forever with your inexcusable behaviour.’ 

 

What is my Contemporary novel about?

Mason is good looking, thoughtful, kind and handsome, and for her, the attraction is instant. So much so, that she decides that she wants to lose her virginity to him, but things are not that simple.

When Mason finds out that she is a virgin, having been a player in the past, he feels that he is not good enough for her. 
Even he cannot understand why he is being so altruistic.

Both stories look at the lives of servant girls in Victorian England, and their romantic relationships. 

In the first, we look at the relationship between Mary, Master William and Edward.

In the second, we look at Grace, and her romantic relationship with Master Luther and his sister Ann.

‘I guess they call you Red because you have red hair,’ she said lightheartedly.

‘You think!’ he said sarcastically, and Hannah fell about laughing, but Red couldn’t see the funny side of it which made Hannah laugh even more.

‘I’m Hanna.’

‘So, Hanna, are you up for it?’

Hannah was so surprised at that remark that she accidentally spat out the coke she had in her mouth on to his trousers.

‘Steady girl,’ he groaned, as he started rubbing it off with a napkin.

‘Sorry about that’.

‘I’m not being funny, I’m serious.’

‘I know you are, which is why it’s so funny. The way you just came straight out with it.’

‘I don’t believe in fancy talk. You find me attractive right?’

She nodded.

‘Well then, let’s get to it.’

‘It’s not as simple as that, I hardly know you?’

‘It’s just sex, what does it matter. You’ll probably be gone tomorrow.’

‘Thanks for the offer, I’m flattered, I really am, but I have to say no… sorry.’

‘I’m sorry too. You’re a great looking bird and I would have liked a bit of you, but eh, there’s plenty more fish in the sea.’

‘I guess there is.’

‘Are you sure you won’t change your mind? I don’t usually give second chances.’

‘You’re confident, I’ll give you that?’

‘With a face like mine you have to be,’ he said abruptly, and then he stood up and walked away.

The story is set in the 1600's, during The Plague and The Great Fire of London.

It is the story of an innocent young girl who desperately wants to escape the clutches of her cruel husband and fight her way out of poverty.

Frank lunged at Mary as she ran towards the door, and then he swung her around to face him. His foul beer smelling breath was all over her face as he thrust his ugly tongue into her mouth. Then he ripped the back of her dress, forced her crinoline from around her waist and flung her onto the bed.

She fought violently but he was a strong man, and the humiliation she felt as he forcefully took her time and time again hurt more than the physical violence, but when he asked her to turn over, she was petrified, for she knew what was coming and he was oblivious to her cries. His appetite was insatiable.
