Later that night, sitting alone in the dark,
Maggie thought about Tom. She liked his brashness and his confidence, but she’d
decided that although she was working class, he was too common even for her. Plus,
he had the gift of the gab and he’d probably had thousands of women, and she
didn’t want to be a notch on his bed post.
